Late March and early April offer cyclists in Japan an opportunity to enjoy the sakura (cherry) blossoms, which are found in many urban parks, along rivers, and in the mountains. This year the Tokyo blossoms are nearing their end, but we should still be able to see some this weekend, and also will enjoy them in the mountains and northern areas of the country over the next 3-4 weeks.
Every year Instagram, Facebook, and other social media are full of sakura photos. I really should not add to the avalanche (or is it tsunami?) of images. But the ones below are not just sakura, they are sakura that I travelled to and from by bicycle. Enjoy!
