Winter solstice ride?

Anyone care for a winter solstice ride this Sunday? I'm proposing a ride I did with Marek and Michael (on different occasions) last year: a Suzugane-loop: http://vlaamsewielrenner.blogspot.com/2007/12/hinazuru-touge-revisited.html

Propose to meet at Sekidobashi at 9:00 ⇒ due to popular demand moved up to 8:30 ! NEW! Moved up to 8:10 !

Good idea. I still remember this ride from last year. There was one downhill stretch on a small road, the wind came from behind and we were racing against the fallen leaves that were accelerated by the gusts.

9 AM is also a good starting time.
I will be there.
Anybody else?

Great Michael...looking forward to this; weather should be fine unlike last Sunday!! Will bring the enduro participation fee money to repay you.

I need to be back by Noon, so I will plan to join the early ride with James Sunday. Enjoy!

I suggest to James that we all meet at Sekidobashi at 8.30 AM, let's wait if this is OK with James and Dvid.

7AM Ebisu does not really match 8:30 Sekidobashi ... I really don't think the multiple rendezvous approach works well for short rides like James is planning for tomorrow. I strongly encourage him to give a start time and then just offer to have people "hop on" as he goes by heading out of town. I still feel bad about the time he and a group of other riders had to kill 15-20 minutes at my house waiting for my colleague, who was running behind. It just is not worth it unless you are planning an epic all-day ride.

If James starts at 7 at Ebisu, then the timeline (absent mechanical problems) would be

-- 7:00 Ebisu
-- 7:20 Kaminoge
-- 8:05 Sekidobashi
-- 8:50 Takao

James and I need to be back by Noon (I really need to be at Futako area by Noon -- need to grab lunch and then get to Narita to meet a flight).

I guess we can cross the river and go up and down the hill twice at "Byoin-zaka" -- Tama Hills area -- to get to Sekidobashi at 8:30AM?

Michael, I would be fine with Sekidobashi at 8:00-ish too. Otherwise we stick to the original plan (9:00) without seeing our globetrotting friends David and James this time. Let me know what you decide...give me a call if necessary.

As this is perhaps one of the last chances to ride in a bigger group at least for a short stretch this year I really would like to meet everybody at Sekidobashi.

As Tom is OK, let's meet at 8:10 hr at Sekidobashi, then we have at least some tolerance for the Ebisu group.
