TRANSALP TRAINING TIPS
for those of you worrying about getting in shape (pear is a shape remember!!) for the summer, take a leaf from the training manual of a transalper. Caught here by an undercover photographer sent to spy on the secret training camp in Malta. Total commitment!

Total commitment - total envy.

I see that not only was this transalper at a secret training camp in Malta, she was riding without her team kit (remember Michael Rasmussen in 2007 -- allegedly rode out of team uniform to avoid the drug testers??).

I'm glad to see that at least one astute photographer was not fooled by the baggy slacks. We'll need to work on getting him a better camera -- this lens seems to produce a very soft, warm and fuzzy image. Kind of like the view of the world someone has when looking at the object of one's love in the early stages of an incredible romance, ... but not ideal for sports or landscape photography.

David is right about the fuzzyness of the camera. The photo looks like the sequel to this :

Oh, isn't that Tom's favorite movie as well?

You mean because of the bicycles?

I don't mean the bicycles, I meant the style of the photo, or the softening effects applied to them.

Compare this one :

To some of the photos on Tom's site.

I was replying to MOB's e-mail and his question whether the movie may be Tom's favorite. As a bicycle lover, surely it must be because of the scene with the bicycles...

Ludwig, you're right, that very scene was my favorite. Honestly, I didn't know Hamilton did movies too. As a kid, I used to be awestruck by his soft focus technique and those long shapely legs.
