The Rest

Hot day today, already at the start in Ischgl at 9. David and me started from the very back of the D Block and overtook about 300 riders (least it felt like) until the first supply dump at km 67. We stayed together at the first climb to the Reschenpass, covering the remaining portion of Austria, all of Switzerland and the beginning of the Italian stretch. 3 out of 4 countries done.
Beautiful fast descent to Schluderns. Then another long climb over the Vinschgau. On the way done disaster struck: spoke broke on the Ultegra rear wheel. Now waiting for the broom wagoon to pick me up.
Sadly, that will impact our team standing, 187th place goodbye.
Otherwise a beautiful day with nice riding.
Thanks to Stephen for dropping by.

Very unlucky - I'm glad that at least you did not fall off the bike, judging by the outstanding and undamaged beauty of your legs.

So no chance to fix or replace and continue?

Greetings from the from the Tyrolian Alps where the weather has turned very summerly, but my own work schedule also very tight.

@ Ludwig...yes, for some reason, Michael's legs have become more shapely than ever before!

What a shame...I know how it feels. Hope you can get it fixed for the remaining rides. I'm becoming a bit sceptical of these mass-produced ready-made wheels lately. Hiroshi-san by the way, builds wonderful wheels and can adjust strength according the riding style, rider's weight etc. I will soon ask him to build another pair for long-distance with climbing rides.

Enjoying the daily updates very much! How wonderful of Steve to drop by. Wishing you and the entire PEE team a great finish!

Heading to Belgium tomorrow for my own TT stint in Damme...
